Hey St. Paul's,
Today was our first day in New Orleans. The day started great til I got on the airplane. I was crying because I was really scared but when we got up in the air I was fine. On the way to the hotel we rode a big tour bus and we played a new game that I have never played before. It is called "Would you like to buy a duck?". I'll have to teach it to you when I get back home. We are now at the hotel and it's huge; I just know I'm going to get lost. When we get to our rooms, I found out two things. #1: My roommates are Justine and her mom. #2: We have a great view of the pool, which is on the roof. Now we are going out to find something to eat in this shopping area called the Riverwalk. We ate at a place called Time Out. They had some normal things that you eat all the time but the first thing on the menu was Gator Bites. These bites were 70% alligator and 30% sausage, then fried. (So good!) By now it was late and everybody was tired. But we had to take 15 minutes and give that to God. We prayed and discussed our day. Afterwards Justine and I were getting ready for bed when we heard someone knock on our door. When I go out to look, two girls from Minnesota came out as well and say their bags were missing. We were scared for them. After all that was over I went to bed.
Good night St. Paul's,
Your ELCA Citizen with the Saints,
Mackenzie Short
